Officer Training

If you have the fitness, talent and go power, you could join the TA Signaller's officer training programme. So that only the best are selected for these positions, the TA Signals operates a rigorous officer selection programme. Holding a commission in the TA Signals is tough but, if you're up to the challenge, you'll be given every possible opportunity to develop your analytical, management and leadership skills.
Initially your unit will be the one to select you for officer training, if they feel you have what it takes. This will lead to attendance at a Territorial Commissions Board (TCB). There you will be assessed through a whole series of mental and physical tasks. If successful and pass all the requirements, you will receive further leadership and development training. You then have to attend two courses at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which will grant you a probationary commission as a Second Lieutenant (if you are successful on both courses).

Applicants for a commission who are already serving in the TA Signals follow a similar path to those with no previous military experience. If you have military experience with the Regular Army, Reserves Forces, or the Officer Training Corps, you may be eligible for a Direct Commission.

The requirements for becoming an Officer are the same as those for a soldier.
